Karsinnoissa taistellaan paikasta Global Finals CeBIT 2011 -tapahtumaan, jossa on jaossa niin rahaa kuin kunniaakin. Karsinnat pelataan maakohtaisesti ja Suomen karsintojen voittajalle löytyy paikka suoraan finaaleista, kun toiseksi ja kolmanneksi sijoittuneet pääsevät jatkamaan seuraavalle karsintakierrokselle, jossa tulee vastaan kilpailijoita muista pohjoismaista.

What is the Intel Extreme Masters European Championship?
The Intel Extreme Masters European Championship gathers all the top players in the European Region, play for fame, glory, spot in the Global Finals at CeBIT 2011, and last but not least the right to call themselves European Champion.
The players are qualified based on the Country Ranking And depending on whether an ESL Pro Series tournament has been completed in the last 6 months, the players are qualified based on their standing in the ESL Pro Series, or as it is in this case, a national cup. A player can only participate in the cup where the participant is currently a resident. For example, a Norwegian player living in Sweden, must participate in the Swedish cup, while a Swedish player living in Germany, must participate in the German cup which will be announced in the German section of the ESL.
The tournament format and length will be decided based on number of signups in any country, and the tournament structure itself will be announced the 3rd of September 2010, with matches expected to commence the 5th of September 2010.
